Mr. Davis was born on July 23, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in the Kansas City area. He attended Kansas State University from 1964 through 1968 and graduated, cum laude, with degrees in Political Science and History. He then attended the Law School at the University of Kansas and graduated from there in 1971. He was a member of the Kansas Law Review and one of its editors while in law school. He is married to Joy Davis, a high school guidance counselor, and they have 2 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren.
