Practice History

Melissa Richards joined Weary Davis in 2015 and began practicing in 2012. She is experienced handling civil and criminal matters including domestic relations, bankruptcy, appellate practice, real estate, landlord/tenant, personal injury and collections. Ms. Richards’ domestic relations experience includes divorces involving members of the military, child custody, child support, paternity, Protection from Abuse, Protection from Stalking, division of farm assets in divorce, step-parent adoption, post-divorce litigation and appellate practice. Ms. Richards is a state-approved domestic mediator.



Ms. Richards joined Weary Davis in 2015 and while in law school, she completed an externship with the Riley County Attorney’s Office. She was raised in Coffeyville, Kansas, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management, magna cum laude from Kaplan University in 2006 and worked in the telecommunications industry before attending law school. Ms. Richards graduated from the Washburn University School of Law with dean’s honors in 2012. Ms. Richards lives in Manhattan with her husband, Jason, and three daughters.
